Trip to Italy

The best knowledge about a place isn’t on TikTok. It’s in local people’s heads — and most importantly, in the hotels.
After graduating from high school in 2022, I had a few months free before military service. I found a family in Italy through Workaway and spent three months living with them, taking care of their garden.
The family worked in travel. I watched how fragmented the industry was up close — how much genuine local knowledge existed and how little of it ever reached the right traveler at the right time. The tourist traps get all the visibility. The real experiences don’t.
The insight that stuck: hotels already have the trust and the guest relationship. They’re the natural channel — the missing infrastructure is what lets them use it.
That observation sat for two years. In 2024 I built the first products around it. In late 2025, Veyond took the shape it has now.
